William Franklin Bath
June 22, 1943 – May 16, 2025
William Franklin Bath, 81, left his earthly home and entered into the presence of God on May 16, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, "Pops" was known for his steadfast faith, generous spirit, and unwavering love for his family and friends.
Born on June 22, 1943, William lived a life marked by faithfulness, hard work, and compassion. He was a dedicated employee of General Motors Allison's for 33 years, where he worked as a lab technician before retiring in 1993. In addition to his work at GM, he also took pride in his craft of hanging wallpaper, a skill he carried out with the same diligence he brought to all aspects of his life.
William was a true servant at heart. He loved the Lord deeply and was a tireless prayer warrior, always lifting up those around him. His spiritual journey led him through long-standing membership and fellowship at several churches, including Bethesda Baptist Church in Brownsburg, Mount Tabor in Fayette, and most recently, Faith Baptist Church of Avon. He touched countless lives through his quiet strength, encouragement, and genuine kindness.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61½ years, Lillian Bath; his son, William David Bath and wife Kirsten; his daughter, Lezley Wass and husband Matt; grandsons Kolby Bath (wife Kayla), Kolton Bath (wife Kirsten), Stone Wass, and Zane Wass; and great-grandsons Knox and Knolan Bath. He is also survived by his brother, Walt Pennington and wife Jan, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Edward Bath, his beloved mother whom he cherished, Betty Mae Pennington, his sister, Cynthia Pless, and his brother, Jon Bath.
William's legacy is one of love, faith, and devotion. He leaves behind a family grounded in the values he lived every day—service, strength, and above all, love.
