William Wayne Johnson
70, Brownsburg, passed away Dec. 19, 2018. A resident of Boone and Hendricks counties most of his life, he attended grade school at Perry Central School in Boone County and graduated in 1967 from Lebanon High School. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1971 with a degree in education. He taught for 39 years at Mooresville and Brownsburg High Schools and was the assistant varsity baseball coach at Mooresville from 1974 to 1985 and the varsity baseball coach at Brownsburg High School from 1987 to 2000. Wayne retired in 2011. He had a love and passion for family and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events. He was the owner of Johnson Sports Collectibles and designed and helped build the Mary Beth Rose Varsity Baseball Field at Brownsburg High School. He was preceded in death by his parents David William and Phyllis Johnson and Idella and Henry Duvall; nieces Jenny, Amy and Angie Isenhour and Lindsay Johnson. Survivors include his wife of 47 years Rhissa Joan Callon Johnson; children Brent (Amanda) Johnson, Christopher (Jillian) Johnson, and Amanda (Cory) Stout,; sister Sandy (Jerry) Isenhour; brothers Steven (Michele) Johnson and David E. (Patty) Johnson; half-sisters Julie Wacasey and Kim Carnes; grandchildren Miranda Carr, Andrew, Nick, Lexi, Jackson and Brooks Johnson, Edie and Izzie Stout; five step brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 3-8pm Friday Dec. 28 at Cornerstone Christian Church, Brownsburg. Funeral services will be at 10am Sat. Dec. 29 at Cornerstone Christian Church.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org
