William J. Roach "Bill"
84, Brownsburg, passed away on March 13, 2021. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Brownsburg. Bill was a Ben Davis High School and Purdue University graduate. He was an Engineer at Union Carbide and recognized for his published patents. He was a successful builder and land developer which all started with moving two small homes. Subsequently, this work led to the development of over 10 subdivisions and building more than 800 homes and condominiums. Recognized business ownership includes Holiday Homes and Roach Enterprises. Respected appointments and awards include President of the Indiana Builders Association (IBA), President of the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis (BAGI), President of the Hendricks County Builders Association, Founding Chairman of the Legal Defense Fund, the President of the Career Education Builders, Fire Prevention and Building Safety Commissioner, Hendricks County Economic Developer Board of Directors, Brownsburg Rotary Club, Hendricks County Lifetime Achievement Award, BAGI Builder of the Year, BAGI Mike Boeke Award, IBA's John C Hart Award.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, skiing, traveling, playing the trumpet, harmonica, and piano, and antiquing. Most recently he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents Ollie and Helen Roach. Survivors include his wife Cheryl Roach; children Barry (Jeannie) Roach, Bradley James (Cheryl) Roach, Mark E. (Angela) Roach, Kenny (Andrea) Crawford, Kari (Randy) Garnett, Curtis (Erin) Crawford; sister Patricia Troutman; fifteen grandchildren.
Visitation is planned from 4 pm to 6 pm Thursday, March 25 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Brownsburg, followed by a celebration of life service to start at 6 pm. In compliance with current requirements and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing.
