Yvonne Jean Whiteley

86, Brownsburg, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sweet friend, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by her loving children on January 8, 2025. A true Hoosier, she was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, and was affectionately called Vonnie Jean by her grandparents, Edward and Edith Zimmerman, who raised her while growing up in Indianapolis. She attended George Washington High School. While raising four children, she was a dedicated accountant for C & W Buildings, the family business, for 15 years. Lovingly known by others as Bonnie, she was an avid race fan and treasured her yearly family vacations to the American West, especially to Colorado. Employed by the Brownsburg Community School Corporation, she took pride in her meticulous work as a custodian. After her retirement, she enjoyed her time with her children and delighted in being a part of her children's families. Bonnie attended Parkside Bible Church. She was preceded in death by her father Eugene Summers, mother Mildred Austin, and brother, Mark Austin. Survivors include her children Rhonda Kirkman, Brian (MaryAnn) Whiteley, Darlene (Mark) Badgley, and Rachele Powers; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Monday, January 13 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1 pm. Burial will be in the Jamestown IOOF Cemetery.
